Coin Strike

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Coin Strike is one of those games we picked up expecting a five-minute distraction and ended up playing on the train for a whole week. The idea is simple: rows of coins slide across the board and you flick or tap to knock them into matching slots before they reach the edge. The catch is that everything speeds up, and the game rewards you for chaining clean hits instead of spamming taps.

Controls are the highlight. Everything happens with one thumb, and the hit detection feels honest, so a missed shot is your fault and not the game's. Levels are short, which fits how you actually play on a phone, and there's a nice difficulty curve that quietly introduces obstacles like locked coins and moving barriers without a wall of tutorials.

What we liked most is how readable the board stays even when it gets busy. The art is clean, the sound effects are satisfying without being annoying, and it runs fine on older hardware. It's not deep in a strategic sense, but as a reflex arcade game it nails the loop.
